Basic Life Support
This course can be adapted to suit a variety of audiences, from the complete novice to those who are skilled but feel their resuscitation skills need updating. The course is suitable for parents, school staff and other first aiders through to dentists, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Resuscitation training normally takes place over three hours and includes theory followed by lots of practical “hands-on” practise.
The syllabus includes:-
– The Theory of Resuscitation
– Incident Management
– Basic Life Support
– Choking
– Recovery Position
The training is in line with the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines 2010 and can be adapted to suit the client in respects to what age group they may be resuscitating, be it babies, children or adults.
Paediatric First Aid
This two day course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anyone who deals with children.
This course can be delivered at your venue and includes both theory and practical sessions.
Aims:
To provide candidates with the confidence to manage a range of injuries, medical conditions, and childhood illnesses including anaphylaxis, asthma, and meningitis. This course also meets the Sure-Start requirements for those working in care settings for children.
Objectives / Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and underpinning knowledge required to undertake correct Paediatric First Aid
- To safely apply knowledge and skills to your practice

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the delegate, there is no final examination. Those delegates who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years.
First Aid 3 Day at work
This is a comprehensive 3 Day Course, in accordance with Health and Safety and Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience, for example, clerical or engineering staff. By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days, for example – one day a week over three weeks.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and underpinning knowledge required to undertake correct emergency First Aid in the work place
- To safely apply knowledge and skills in practice

Students are independently examined on the final afternoon of the course. Upon successful completion certification is valid for three years*.
Emergency First Aid at Work
We are able to offer the HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work course. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience and is ideal for lower risk businesses, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. The course is run over one day and includes both theory and practical sessions.
Aims:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and underpinning knowledge required to undertake correct emergency First Aid in the work place
- To safely apply knowledge and skills in practice

*Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommend that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months.
